November 8, 2024: Amazon Eyes Bigger Stake in Anthropic - Amazon is considering investing several billion dollars more in AI company Anthropic, under the condition that Anthropic uses Amazons silicon on AWS for AI training. Despite its preference for Nvidia chips, Anthropic may find the offer hard to resist, particularly as it faces significant financial pressure, with projected spending of $2.7 billion in 2024. Anthropic is also in discussions for new funding at a $40 billion valuation. So far, the company has raised $9.7 billion, nearly half of OpenAIs $21.9 billion funding total.
