October 9, 2024: Amazon Unveils AI-Driven Package System for Vans - Amazon has introduced VAPR, an AI-based system to streamline package management for its delivery drivers. Using a projector to highlight correct parcels, VAPR is expected to save more than half an hour per delivery route and lessen driver workload. Its powered by AWS IoT Greengrass and utilizes AI models tuned for variable van conditions. Set to be implemented in 1,000 electric vans by 2025, VAPR also integrates with navigation software for seamless parcel identification. Alongside, Amazon launched AI Shopping Guides to enhance customer experience on its e-commerce platform.
