August 9, 2024: Anysphere Raises $60M for AI Coding Assistant - Anysphere, a startup behind the AI-powered coding assistant Cursor, has secured $60 million in Series A funding at a $400 million valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Thrive Capital. Patrick Collison and other notable investors participated. Co-founded by MIT students, Anysphere aims to rival GitHub Copilot. Investor interest in AI coding tools is strong, given GitHub Copilots significant revenue growth. Anysphere previously raised funding from Neo and OpenAI Startup Fund.
