ChatGPT Image Feature Delayed for Free Users - OpenAI has delayed releasing ChatGPT's new AI image features for free users due to unexpectedly high demand. These features are currently available only to ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Teams subscribers. CEO Sam Altman cited insufficient compute capacity as the reason for this delay, a recurring issue for the company.
OpenAI plans to address these constraints with its upcoming $500 billion Stargate data center project. The initial plan was to make the image feature available to all users, but capacity issues have postponed access for free users.
