The probe focuses on whether Google conducted a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) as required by GDPR. Generative AIs tendency to create plausible falsehoods and use personal data raises significant privacy concerns, leading to increased regulatory scrutiny. Google has stated its commitment to working with the DPC.
