NTT Launches Low-Power AI Chip for 4K Video - NTT Corporation has introduced an advanced AI inference chip that processes ultra-high-definition 4K video in real-time with low power consumption, making it ideal for edge devices and drones. This new LSI allows detection from greater altitudes, boosting applications in infrastructure inspection and public safety.
Consuming less than 20 watts, the chip efficiently performs object detection with innovations in computational complexity and accuracy. Commercialization is planned for fiscal 2025, with potential uses in NTT's IOWN initiative and secure data sharing.
