OpenAI Adopts Anthropics Data Connection Standard - OpenAI plans to integrate the Anthropics Model Context Protocol (MCP) to improve AI interactions with data sources. Announced by CEO Sam Altman, MCP is an open-source standard that enhances AI responses by linking models to diverse data systems. It enables developers to create two-way connections between data sources and AI applications. Already adopted by companies such as Block and Apollo, MCP support will broaden across OpenAI products, including ChatGPT.
Anthropics' Mike Krieger praised OpenAI for joining the MCP community, highlighting its swift adoption and effectiveness in connecting AI with existing data and software systems. OpenAI intends to provide more details about its MCP integration in the near future.
