OpenAI Plans Pricey AI Agent Launch - OpenAI is reportedly planning to launch specialized AI agents for various industries, including software engineering and research, with monthly subscription fees reaching up to $20,000. A high-income knowledge worker agent could cost $2,000 monthly, while a software developer agent might be priced at $10,000. The top-tier option, aimed at PhD-level research, is expected to cost $20,000 per month.
Although specific launch details remain unspecified, investor SoftBank intends to spend $3 billion on these products this year. OpenAI's initiative aims to counter the previous year's $5 billion loss through these high-priced subscriptions.
