OpenAI Requires Verified ID for API Access - OpenAI is introducing an ID verification process called Verified Organization for accessing certain future AI models via their API. This step aims to enhance security, ensure safe usage, and prevent intellectual property theft, following policy violations and data exfiltration incidents. Organizations must provide a government-issued ID from supported countries for this process.
Verification will be valid for only one organization every 90 days, and not all applicants will qualify. This initiative highlights OpenAI's commitment to responsible AI deployment as models grow more sophisticated.
