Ilya Sutskever’s startup, Safe Superintelligence, raises $1B

September 4, 2024: Safe Superintelligence Secures $1B for AI Research - Safe Superintelligence (SSI), co-founded by ex-OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, raised over $1 billion from investors like NFDG, a16z, Sequoia, and more. SSI plans to use the funds to acquire computing power and hire researchers in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv. Valued at $5 billion, SSIs research focus remains undisclosed.
