Whistleblowers accuse OpenAI of ‘illegally restrictive’ NDAs

July 13, 2024: Whistleblowers Accuse OpenAI of Illegal NDAs - Whistleblowers claim OpenAIs non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) illegally restricted communication with regulators, according to a letter obtained by The Washington Post. The letter alleges these NDAs discouraged employees from reporting securities violations and forced them to waive whistleblower compensation rights. OpenAI is accused of requiring employees to inform the company of regulatory interactions. Senator Chuck Grassley emphasized the need for revised NDAs to protect whistleblower rights. CEO Sam Altman had earlier apologized and promised to rectify exit agreements. TechCrunch failed to get OpenAIs immediate response.
