xAI Secures $6B to Challenge AI Competitors - Elon Musk's xAI raised $6 billion, increasing its total funding to $12 billion as it competes with AI giants like OpenAI. The company filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, accusing them of stifling competition. xAI’s Grok AI model powers features on X (formerly Twitter) and generates revenue through integrations and consumer-facing products.
xAI plans to expand its data center and leverage data from Musk's companies for model training, aiming to enhance technologies across Tesla, SpaceX, and others. Further fundraising is planned for next year.
